How We Research Our Guides

Every guide on petloverofficial.com follows the same process. This page explains it, so you can judge our work for yourself.

1. Primary sources only

Specs, prices, subscription tiers, warranty terms and policy details come from the company itself: its product pages, help center, spec sheets and policy documents. We don’t take figures from other round-ups, review sites or retailer listings, because those are often out of date or copied from each other.

2. Gaps stay visible

When a company doesn’t publish a figure, we say so. We label it as not stated rather than borrowing a number from a third-party site or estimating one. You can always tell what we confirmed from what nobody states.

3. Compare on the numbers that decide the outcome

Each guide picks the few factors that actually change what you get. For pet insurance, that means reimbursement rate, deductible, annual limit and waiting period. For GPS collars, update speed, battery life in the mode you’d really use, coverage and 12-month cost. For subscriptions and devices, what they cost to keep running, not just the sticker price.

4. A second editor checks every number

Two of us run the site. Whoever writes a guide, the other checks its figures against the original sources before it is published.

5. Re-dated when re-checked

Prices and policy terms change often. Each guide shows the month we last verified it, and we update that date only when we have actually re-checked the sources.

6. Commission changes nothing

No brand pays for inclusion or for a ranking, and none sees a guide before it goes live. How the site is funded is explained in our Affiliate Disclosure.

Scope

Our guides are written for the US market. Prices are in USD, and insurance terms, waiting periods and product availability are those that apply in the US.

Spotted something wrong?

If a figure has changed or we got something wrong, please tell us through our Contact page. We’ll check it against the source and correct the guide.
