📝 How we check a claim

The same three rules apply to every guide on this site.

Primary sources first

Specs, prices, warranty terms and policy details come from the company’s own product pages, help center or policy documents wherever it publishes them — never from its ad copy or a retailer listing.

Gaps stay visible

When a company doesn’t publish a figure, we say so, and where we fall back on an independent review we name it rather than passing the number off as the company’s own. You can always tell what we confirmed from what nobody states.

Commission changes nothing

We may earn a commission on some links, at no extra cost to you. No brand pays for inclusion or for a ranking, and none of them sees a guide before it goes live.

👤 Who writes this

Two of us run the site. We both write guides, and neither of us publishes one until the other has checked the numbers against the source.

Shiori

Co-editor

Started the site to write the kind of buying guide she wanted for her own pets: built from the companies’ own documents, with the gaps left visible instead of papered over. Writes across pet tech, feeding and gear.

Daisuke, co-editor of petloverofficial.com

Daisuke

Co-editor

Reads the fine print nobody reads — waiting periods, per-condition deductibles, the exclusions a marketing page skips. Writes across insurance and vet costs, and everywhere else a document needs checking line by line.

Ann, one of the three cats behind petloverofficial.com

The animals behind the guides

Several of our guides started as a problem one of our own pets handed us — a 15-year-old dog whose bowl we kept rethinking, and three cats who share the litter boxes.
